A tantrik in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, lured a woman with promises of financial stability. He told her he could perform a ritual to prevent her money from disappearing. The woman, convinced by his words, invited him to her home. During the ritual, the tantrik stole from her, and she only discovered the theft the following day, leading to shock and dismay.
Subsequently, the woman reported the incident to the police, who are now actively searching for the fraudulent tantrik. The woman, Meera, runs a tea shop near LNT Business Management College in Bhagwanpur and resides in IG Colony. According to her statement to the police, the man, who claimed to be a tantrik and offered rituals, had been a regular visitor to her shop for several days. He would often linger after having tea.
Meera shared that she frequently suffered from illnesses, and though she earned money, her household never prospered. The con artist, presenting himself as a tantrik, exploited this by offering a ritual to resolve her issues. She was deceived and, without a second thought, brought him to her home. There, the fake tantrik asked her to gather all her jewelry.
The tantrik then wrapped all the jewelry in a red cloth, chanted some mantras, and returned the bundle. He instructed her not to open it until the next morning, after she had watered the Tulsi plant. The following morning, after completing the task, Meera opened the bundle to find only a packet of paper instead of her jewelry. She suspects the con artist might have used a chemical to disorient her while handing over the bundle. Sadar Police Station’s officer, Asmit Kumar, confirmed that the case is under investigation.
