Nagpur and Nashik police have filed an FIR against psephologist Sanjay Kumar, associated with Lokniti-CSDS, due to a controversial social media post concerning the Maharashtra elections. The FIR includes charges under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, addressing concerns over false information and potential election violations. According to Harsh Poddar, SP Nagpur (Rural), the police are reviewing the seriousness of the accusations before proceeding with an investigation, which will likely involve Kumar. The District Election Officers of Nagpur and Nashik confirmed the registration of the FIRs. The complaints allege that Kumar posted inaccurate information about voters in specific constituencies, urging citizens to verify information through the ECI website.
