During the National Space Day event at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi, ISRO showcased a model of the Indian Space Station (BAS) module. India is targeting the launch of the first module of its own space station, BAS, in 2028, positioning itself among the few countries operating orbital laboratories. Currently, the International Space Station, run by five space agencies, and China’s Tiangong space station are the only operational orbital laboratories. India has an extensive plan to establish five modules of the Indian Space Station by 2035 as part of its ambitious goals for the space sector.
