The bridge over the Kons River in Gumla, Jharkhand, which was constructed at a cost of approximately 3 crore rupees in 2010, has been destroyed by heavy rainfall. The bridge, spanning about 200 feet, suffered structural failure, with a pillar collapsing during the night of August 22nd and 23rd, leading to a significant portion of the bridge falling into the river. This crucial infrastructure link, vital for the daily commute of villagers to the Sissai block, is now unusable, forcing residents to travel much farther, thereby increasing their time and effort.
