The ongoing Voter Rights Yatra in Bihar, organized by the Mahagathbandhan, marked its twelfth day with a visit to the Janaki Temple in Sitamarhi. Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav, and Pappu Yadav participated in the religious ceremony. Gandhi had expressed his wish to visit the temple a day earlier, but initial security concerns had delayed the approval. The visit was later approved after the route was finalized.
The visit by Rahul and Tejashwi to the Janaki Temple was successfully arranged after facing some initial challenges. Security concerns had been raised by the administration earlier. Priyanka Gandhi had also planned to visit the temple, but she returned to Delhi because of unresolved issues regarding the route. Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav visited the temple early in the morning and offered prayers.
Congress leader Krishna Allaveru highlighted their respect for all religions and deities, emphasizing the positive aspects of each faith. Bihar Congress President Rajesh Ram expressed prayers for the welfare of the people and the progress of both the nation and Bihar.
The Voter Rights Yatra started on August 17th in Sasaram. The yatra includes prominent leaders such as Rahul Gandhi, RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav, Dipankar Bhattacharya from CPI(ML), Mukesh Sahni from VIP, and other allies from the Mahagathbandhan. The yatra reached Sitamarhi from Muzaffarpur on Wednesday.
