Los Angeles police officers fatally shot Gurpreet Singh, 36, after responding to 911 calls reporting a man with a blade near Figueroa Street and Olympic Boulevard. Singh, who was performing Gatka, a Sikh martial art, initially abandoned his vehicle and attempted self-harm. He then reportedly advanced towards officers with a ‘khanda’, a two-foot-long double-edged sword, leading to the shooting. The incident resulted in Singh’s death at the hospital. The LAPD has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The police confirmed that no other individuals were harmed during the incident.
