The Chhattisgarh Transport Department is cautioning the public against potential scams involving fake e-challans. The department is advising vehicle owners to ensure they are using the official website for any challan payments related to their vehicles. This warning comes in response to recently discovered fraudulent schemes where vehicle owners were targeted with counterfeit messages and emails demanding challan payments. The department has made it clear that payments should not be made through unofficial websites, links, or applications. To obtain information about genuine challans, vehicle owners are directed to the departmental portal where they can select the “Pay Online” option. Entering the vehicle number along with the last four digits of the chassis or engine number will allow access to the complete challan details. Following this, secure online payment can be completed. The department stresses that all e-challans issued by the police and transport authorities are accessible only on the official portal. It further advises against responding to any questionable calls, messages, or links, and to promptly report any suspected fraudulent activities to the nearest police station or transport department office.
