The Trump administration is reportedly considering attacks on drug cartels operating within Venezuela, which Washington has previously designated as narco-terrorist organizations. According to reports, the US is exploring the possibility of surgical strikes against drug trafficking groups inside Venezuela. US warships, Marine units, and a nuclear-powered submarine have been deployed near the Venezuelan maritime border. This build-up follows an incident where the US military attempted to intercept a drug-laden vessel, resulting in 11 fatalities. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has refuted the US accusations, asserting that military conflict is not the solution to the existing disagreements and warning that Venezuela would engage in armed conflict if attacked.
