Rabi Laxmi Chitrakar, the wife of former Nepalese Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal, has been transported to India for advanced medical care following injuries sustained during recent Gen-Z demonstrations. The protests, which occurred on September 9th, led to severe damage, including a fire at Khanal’s residence in Kathmandu’s Dallu area. Chitrakar suffered significant burns in the incident, impacting approximately 15% of her body. Prior treatment was provided at a hospital in Kirtipur; however, due to the severity of her condition, a medical team recommended further treatment in New Delhi. Khanal, a prominent figure in Nepal’s political landscape and a senior leader of the Communist Party of Nepal (UML), served as Prime Minister from February to August 2011. The current status of Rabi Laxmi Chitrakar remains critical.
