In a stunning display of batting prowess, Zimbabwean batsman Brian Bennett, aged 21, has set a new world record in T20 International cricket. He accomplished the unprecedented feat of hitting six fours in a single over. This historic moment happened during the T20 World Cup 2026 qualification match against Kenya. Bennett’s record-breaking over took place in the fourth over of Zimbabwe’s innings. Facing Kenyan bowler Lucas Oluoch, Bennett displayed remarkable power and precision, hitting six consecutive boundaries. He also made 51 runs from 25 balls, maintaining a strike rate of more than 204. His innings included eight boundaries and two sixes. Prior to this performance, Kenya batted first, managing 122 runs for the loss of six wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Bennett opened the innings for Zimbabwe and played a crucial role in a 76-run opening partnership with his opening partner. Bennett’s contribution to the opening stand was substantial, with his individual score being 51 runs. This score was heavily influenced by the six fours he hit in a single over, a world record in itself.
