A serious incident unfolded in Palamu’s Chhatarpur area where para-teacher Jamaluddin Ansari was critically wounded in a shooting near his residence. Following the attack, Ansari was transferred from MMC Hospital to Ranchi for further treatment. His family made the decision to admit him to the private Medanta hospital in Ranchi instead of RIMS on Thursday. The bullet’s fragments are lodged in his lungs, and by Thursday morning, surgical procedures were in progress. Preliminary investigations suggest a land dispute as the primary cause of the violence, stemming from a long-standing disagreement over property transactions with a local resident. Ansari had reportedly communicated details of this dispute to the police. Authorities have detained a few individuals for questioning as part of their ongoing effort to understand the circumstances of the attack. The shooting occurred on Wednesday night as Ansari was walking home after closing his shop. Two attackers reportedly lay in wait near a building and opened fire suddenly. He suffered injuries to his right arm and abdominal area. He received initial medical attention at the Chhatarpur Sub-divisional Hospital and was later moved to MMC Hospital, where his grave condition led to his referral to Ranchi. Ansari’s daughter, who was having tea outside their house, reportedly saw the assailants firing, though she could not identify them.
