Residents of rural West Singhbhum will now benefit from improved access to potable water, thanks to the inauguration of five new solar water towers on Saturday. Launched under the ‘Jal Hi Jeevan Hai’ campaign, this initiative is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) endeavor by the Gua Ore Mines management. The project’s rollout began in Gangda village and culminated at Bada Jamkundi village, bringing solar-powered water facilities to Gangda, Ghatkuri, Duiya, Chhota Jamkundi, and Bada Jamkundi. These solar water towers promise to deliver safe, clean, and uninterrupted drinking water to the local populace. By harnessing solar energy, the project contributes to environmental sustainability and addresses the critical issue of water scarcity faced by many villagers. The inauguration was graced by key figures such as GM (Mines) S.P. Das and GM (E&L) Dr. T.C. Anand from SAIL management, Gangda Panchayat Mukhiya Raju Sandil, Manki Lagura Devgam, and Jamkundi’s Munda Ruben, joined by a substantial gathering of community members. DGM (CSR) Anil Kumar spearheaded the project, ensuring the successful completion of all solar water tower constructions.
