Students from Ramgarh’s Kasturba Gandhi Balika Awasiya Vidyalaya have achieved a significant victory, securing a silver medal at the Jharkhand State Level School Band Competition. This prestigious event, held at the Birsa Munda Athletics Stadium in Khelgaon, was organized by the Jharkhand Education Project Council under the state’s Department of School Education and Literacy. The talented team from Catha, Ramgarh, comprising 25 members and captained by Rani Kumari, showcased their musical prowess in the pipe band category. Their synchronized performance, set to a medley of patriotic songs, captivated the judges and earned them the second-highest rank across the state. District Education Officer Kumari Neelam congratulated the team, emphasizing the pride this accomplishment brings to Ramgarh. She acknowledged the dedicated efforts of the education department, the physical education teachers, and the entire Kasturba team. District Education Superintendent Sanjeet Kumar praised the young musicians for their excellent performance, anticipating even more remarkable results in the future, fueled by the ‘Khel Jharkhand’ initiative. He believes this success will inspire other students to pursue musical excellence. Assistant District Project Officer Nalini Ranjan highlighted the crucial role of specialized training provided by Subedar Major Kulwant Singh of the Sikh Regimental Centre, Ramgarh. This silver medal marks a promising start for Ramgarh’s musical endeavors, with ambitions for gold in future competitions. The department is actively working to implement band programs in all district schools to foster broader participation and talent development.
