In a significant escalation of counter-terrorism efforts, India has launched its largest anti-terror operation of the decade across Jammu and Kashmir. The multi-pronged offensive targets over 100 suspected militant and support locations in more than 60 areas. This operation is specifically designed to dismantle the support networks and logistical chains controlled by handlers in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), aimed at curbing the flow of extremism and recruitment among local youth. Districts such as Ganderbal, which saw extensive raids on 76 individuals, along with Srinagar, Kulgam, Shopian, Budgam, and Kupwara, are at the forefront of these extensive search and cordon operations. Coordinated by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and national intelligence agencies, the crackdown also includes surprise inspections within Srinagar and Kupwara prisons to expose and dismantle any internal terror communication hubs. Officials are focused on disrupting the financial and propaganda machinery of militant groups. This intensified drive follows earlier successful operations in the Rajouri district and includes thwarting infiltration attempts along the LoC. The goal is to deliver a decisive blow to remaining militant structures and secure the region’s peace and prosperity.
