An anti-Naxalite operation in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district has led to the elimination of three Maoist fighters. The encounter took place early Sunday morning in the rugged terrains between Bhejji and Chintagufa police station areas. A specialized unit of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) was actively patrolling and gathering intelligence when they encountered armed Naxalite operatives.
The operation, driven by specific intelligence about Maoist activity, saw DRG personnel engage the insurgents. Police officials confirmed the successful neutralization of three Naxalites during the intense exchange of fire. The security forces are maintaining a strong presence in the area as the operation continues to ensure the complete dismantling of any remaining rebel presence. This development underscores the persistent threat of Naxalism in the region.
