A pall of sorrow has fallen over Odisha as Humane Sagar, a celebrated singer known for his soulful Odia melodies, has passed away at the young age of 36. Sagar was admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar for critical treatment over the last three days due to multiple organ failure. Medical authorities at AIIMS reported that the singer’s condition worsened, and he passed away on Monday night at 9:08 PM, despite the best efforts of a dedicated medical team providing aggressive and advanced care. His medical records indicated a complex array of health challenges, encompassing severe pneumonia, advanced liver and heart conditions, multi-organ dysfunction, and acute kidney failure. The loss of Humane Sagar, who contributed over 100 songs to the Odia music industry, has been met with widespread grief and tributes from across the state.
