Australian speedster Mitchell Starc has achieved a significant personal milestone in Test cricket, becoming the leading wicket-taker among all left-arm fast bowlers. During the second Ashes Test in Brisbane, Starc captured his 415th Test wicket, eclipsing the long-standing record of Pakistani legend Wasim Akram, who finished his career with 414 wickets. The dismissal of England’s Harry Brook at second slip marked this historic moment. Starc’s journey to this record began in 2011 at the very same ground, highlighting his longevity and impact. He is recognized for his sustained excellence, being one of only three bowlers, alongside Nathan Lyon and Ravichandran Ashwin, to secure more than 350 Test wickets since the start of 2015. This achievement places him 16th overall in Test wicket-taking and he is on track to surpass other notable bowlers like Harbhajan Singh and Shaun Pollock. His bowling prowess was evident from the outset of the match, as he quickly reduced England to a precarious position.
