Ranchi Pays Homage to Dr. Ambedkar on 69th Death Anniversary

Ranchi: The 69th Mahaparinirvan Diwas of the architect of the Indian Constitution, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, was observed with deep respect in Ranchi today. A special tribute assembly took place at Ambedkar Chowk in Doranda, acknowledging Dr. Ambedkar as a profound symbol of social justice, equality, and human rights. The aspiration for a society where every individual, regardless of background, attains their rights, dignity, and opportunities, was reaffirmed. Attendees garlanded Dr. Ambedkar’s statue, taking a solemn vow to advance the fight for social justice and equality. The Adivasi-Moolvasi Janadhikar Manch organized the homage ceremony. Vijay Shankar Nayak, Central Vice-President of the Manch, stated that despite constitutional guarantees, marginalized communities in Jharkhand, such as Adivasi, Dalit, and other backward classes, are still deprived of their fundamental rights. He issued a call for the government to uphold Dr. Ambedkar’s principles by ensuring education, employment, and social security as rights, protecting Adivasi rights over natural resources, acting decisively against caste discrimination, and making equality and justice the bedrock of governance. Nayak reiterated that Dr. Ambedkar’s ultimate goal is for every citizen to possess rights, dignity, and opportunities, reminding everyone that the struggle is far from over and requires persistent effort. He added that Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy extends beyond the Constitution; he empowered millions with self-respect and rights, and his teachings on equality, liberty, and fraternity remain vital. The gathering vowed to unite and continue this struggle to build the India of Dr. Ambedkar’s dreams. The event concluded peacefully with participants observing two minutes of silence and reaffirming their commitment to constitutional integrity and social justice.
