In a decisive move against illegal drug operations, the Govindpur Police have successfully arrested four notorious brown sugar traffickers. This recent operation, part of an ongoing special campaign to combat drug abuse, has yielded substantial results. The police apprehended the suspects red-handed, seizing 81 small packets of brown sugar, ₹2,550 in cash, and four mobile phones. The apprehended smugglers are Gaurav Kumar, also known as Amar (26), residing in Sheshnagar, Govindpur; Mohammad Imran (21), a resident of Carriage Colony, Burma Mines; Jambhuvan Mahto (24), and Lalan Manjhi (28), both from Tamulia, Kapaali in the Seraikela-Kharsawan district. According to police reports, this action was taken following persistent complaints regarding drug peddling in the area. The arrested individuals have provided crucial information about their supply chain and wider network during interrogation. The police are actively pursuing other members of this criminal syndicate and anticipate further arrests soon. These intensified efforts underscore the police’s dedication to eradicating the drug menace.
