Chhattisgarh’s commitment to erasing the long-standing hurdle of Naxalism and fostering comprehensive development in the Bastar region was the central theme of a high-level review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. Sai asserted that the anti-Naxal operations are in a decisive phase, a testament to the strategic guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the robust leadership of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and the unwavering valor of the security forces.
This mission is being pursued by actively engaging the populace in Bastar through consistent dialogue, targeted development initiatives, and the enhancement of essential public services, aiming to solidify public trust. The Chief Minister affirmed that the ‘double-engine’ government is dedicated to achieving balanced and all-encompassing development for Bastar, thereby integrating it into the national developmental framework. A detailed, three-year action plan for Bastar’s progress is being formulated for swift implementation in a mission-driven approach.
Sai emphasized the critical need for seamless coordination among government departments. He also mandated that departmental secretaries should conduct regular on-ground assessments in Bastar to meticulously monitor the progress of various welfare and development schemes. This ensures accountability and timely course correction. Key directives were issued concerning water management, particularly the implementation of sustainable drinking water solutions using surface water sources in fluoride-prone areas.
