Raipur, January 16, 2026/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has said that Sanatan tradition and spiritual events strengthen morality, values, and social harmony in society. He was addressing the Shri Shiv Mahapuran Katha organized today at village Khamhar in the Bargarh Khola area of Raigarh district. It is noteworthy that this recitation is being organized as a tribute in the holy memory of Hiraben Modi, mother of the country’s Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. In the program, the Chief Minister performed ritualistic worship and prayed to Lord Shiva for the happiness and prosperity of the people of the state. He met and took blessings from the internationally renowned child story orator Shri Krishna Dubey Maharaj. Chief Minister Shri Sai, while mentioning the cultural and religious heritage of Chhattisgarh, said that this is the same land where Lord Shri Ram spent most of his exile period. The glory of Mother Shabari’s tasted berries is still alive today. He said that on the occasion of the consecration ceremony of the grand temple of Lord Shri Ram in Ayodhya, Prasad made from the fragrant rice of Chhattisgarh was offered, which is a matter of pride for the state. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that under the Ramlala Darshan Scheme operated by the Chhattisgarh government, more than 40 thousand devotees have visited Ayodhya in the last two years. Meanwhile, under the Mukhyamantri Tirtha Yatra Yojana, more than 5 thousand senior citizens have benefited so far through visits to 19 identified pilgrimage sites. Finance Minister Shri OP Choudhary also addressed the program. The recitation of Shri Shiv Mahapuran Katha is being conducted in a musical style by the internationally renowned child story orator Shri Krishna Dubey Maharaj, who arrived from Akola (Maharashtra), in which a soulful description of the entire character of Shiva, including Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati, is being given. In the program, Lok Sabha MP Shri Radheshyam Rathia and Smt. Kamlesh Jangde, Rajya Sabha MP Shri Devendra Pratap Singh, District Panchayat President Smt. Shikha Gabel, Raigarh Mayor Shri Jivardhan Chauhan, Municipal President Kharsia Shri Kamal Garg along with many public representatives and a large number of devotees were present.
