Breaking a cycle of gang intimidation, Delhi’s AATS team executed a precise strike in Dwarka, arresting two men tied to the Saddam Gauri syndicate and confiscating illegal firearms. The January 11 raid uncovered two pistols and cartridges, marking a pivotal win against arms circulation.
At the center is Ravi (37), aliases Budhi and Jalebi, Uttam Nagar resident with 14 cases pending. His arms contact, Nishant (21) from Hastsal JJ Colony, was also collared. Intelligence-led tactics snagged Ravi first, with follow-up yields from Nishant.
Under DCP Dwarka’s anti-crime mandate, the squad maintained round-the-clock surveillance on suspects. The operation’s foot soldiers, from SI Dhananjay to Constable Arvind, reported to top brass including ACP Operations.
Ravi’s confession detailed his descent into gang life for extortion profits from shady traders, sourcing guns via Nishant. This bust not only neutralizes immediate threats but aims to unravel the gang’s hierarchy.
Uttam Nagar station registered the case under Arms Act sections. Ongoing inquiries promise further revelations, as Delhi Police ramps up efforts to sanitize streets from gang influence and illegal arms.
