BJP MP Anurag Thakur has ignited hopes for a youth-led political future in Himachal with the ‘Yuva Changemaker’ initiative. Inspired by PM Modi’s youth rally in politics, this fellowship program launches on Basant Panchami to build self-reliant leaders.
Addressing reporters in Dharamshala, Thakur revealed the roadmap: Applications from January 25 (Himachal Day) to March 23 online. Over 10,000 youth from all districts expected at booth camps, leading to state-level training and a grand finale.
Elite selection picks 21 fellows for Rs 1,21,000 annual stipends. Independent judges award 40% for theory, 60% practicals—including overnight village challenges to devise solutions.
Each selectee heads a 100-volunteer force for year-long projects. ‘Focus: How to develop Himachal? Bring real change?’ Thakur questioned, underscoring the mission.
Fellows gain insider access: Assist lawmakers, shape policies, execute government initiatives, perform social work. It’s comprehensive training for impactful governance.
This timely program responds to the need for fresh perspectives in politics, positioning Himachal’s youth as architects of progress. As doors open, a new chapter in youth empowerment begins.
