From the heart of Uttar Pradesh’s political arena, SP’s Ravidass Mehrotra has made headlines by urging Akhilesh Yadav to lead the INDIA alliance, promising it would emerge as a formidable force. During an IANS interaction in Lucknow, he elaborated on SP’s vision for opposition unity.
Mehrotra was direct: ‘Akhilesh Yadav must take the leadership of INDIA. It will strengthen immensely, commanding unquestioned respect nationwide.’ The call highlights strategic maneuvering amid alliance talks.
Regarding Naseemuddin Siddiqui’s departure from Congress, he clarified, ‘No BJP for him after quitting BSP. SP welcomes him fully.’ Positioning SP as BJP’s antithesis, Mehrotra stressed its prowess in tackling UP’s challenges.
Anticipating 2027, he said, ‘BJP’s allure has faded amid public outrage. SP will ride the change wave to form government with absolute majority, Akhilesh as CM.’
Law and order came under fire, with Amroha’s case spotlighted. ‘Government’s justice laws are hollow; women face ongoing exploitation without protection.’
On SIR, allegations of fraud abounded. ‘Voter lists purged of vulnerable names. Discrepancies between panchayat and assembly versions indicate deliberate irregularities,’ he charged.
