Guwahati witnessed sharp political rhetoric on Sunday as Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tore into Congress following their disorganized Rangiya rally. Labeling it a window into the party’s turmoil and cultural disconnect, Sarma decried the event’s blatant violation of Assamese customs and societal principles.
In candid remarks to journalists, he confessed surprise at discovering the rally via viral visuals, which depicted pandemonium over protocol. ‘No semblance of structure—just raw disorganization,’ he critiqued.
Sarma framed this as a red flag for Congress’s viability, alleging a pattern of cultural insularity that threatens Assam’s social equilibrium. He stressed the imperative for politics to embrace state identity and values, warning of enduring harm from contrary paths.
‘Defeating such forces in polls serves Assam and India,’ he posited, calling for public stewardship of democratic processes to uphold cultural sanctity.
On a forward-looking note, Sarma prophesied a Congress-Raijor Dal union, with the Miya community as catalyst. ‘The convergence is coming, powered by Miya influence,’ he proclaimed.
