A distinguished book launch unfolded Tuesday at Lok Bhavan, Mumbai, where Governor Acharya Devvrat for Gujarat and Maharashtra introduced ‘Ghosts, Horror and Hills’. Authored by Aditya Kant – journalist, academic, and ‘High on Kasol’ creator – the volume features 18 stories blending horror with humanism.
Devvrat praised Kant for infusing positivity into seemingly scary tales, using them to highlight social contributions. Dismissing ghosts as psychological illusions, he hailed the innovative storytelling that spreads goodwill across themes.
Declaring sensitivity life’s paramount quality, the Governor linked it to youth empowerment and societal progress. Books, he reflected, are eternal friends granting tranquility and inner power.
Kant vividly recalled his pandemic ICU battle, where facing death head-on inspired altruism toward other patients. The book channels these moments into tales championing cooperation and eco-awareness.
Guests of honor included Red Chillies’ Karuna Badwal, artist Sanjeev Vadhwani, director Rajan Khosa, and entertainment-media notables. The event illuminated how literature can enchant while uplifting spirits.
