Odisha is witnessing the birth of an industrial renaissance, as affirmed by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi while dedicating India’s inaugural Flat Rolled Products (FRP) Aluminium Unit at the Aditya Aluminium plant of Hindalco Industries in Sambalpur’s Lapanga area.
During the Tuesday proceedings, Majhi noted the state’s rapid industrialization drive, anchored by proposals exceeding Rs 20 lakh crore that could yield 15 lakh fresh jobs. The FRP facility, involving a whopping Rs 26,996 crore outlay, anticipates creating 5,012 positions, propelling forward-linked manufacturing and spawning livelihood innovations across the area.
‘Western Odisha now epitomizes confidence, order, and entrepreneurial spirit, evolving from verdant forests and cultivable lands into premier manufacturing destinations worldwide,’ Majhi articulated.
He extolled the workers’ role as the linchpin of industrial achievements, ensuring non-stop productivity and unyielding forward momentum.
Majhi articulated a holistic view of development: it’s gauged by lived transformations—opportunities for the youth, safeguards for families, elevated education, and advanced health infrastructure—rather than fiscal pledges alone.
Charting western Odisha’s trajectory as a world-class industrial nexus, he emphasized integrating global capital with citizen-focused advancement. Core agendas involve localized hiring, MSME empowerment, promotion of premium green production, and equitable growth benefiting all strata of society.
An earnest invitation was extended to the populace for proactive industrial embracement. In Rourkela later, Majhi opened the 25th iteration of Enterprise Odisha 2026 by CII, featuring elite companies unveiling their prowess, breakthroughs, and success sagas.
The festivities peaked with a cultural bonanza and the city’s first drone extravaganza, masterfully interweaving western Odisha’s storied traditions with its burgeoning industrial narrative.
