Cheers echoed through Naya Raipur’s Police Headquarters as Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai launched the Silver Jubilee Medal, a tribute to Chhattisgarh Police’s tireless vigil for peace and security. Greeting the ranks with blessings, Sai affirmed the medal’s role as an indelible marker of their courage, heroism, and selflessness in duty.
From its Republic Day proclamation to today’s swift rollout, the initiative spotlights governmental resolve. In 25 years, the force has excelled in law enforcement and Naxal suppression, offering unparalleled valor. ‘This token will forever recall their devotion,’ the CM asserted.
The medal’s silver disc fuses tradition: Sal tree on front, Hill Myna in relief on back, secured by ribbon for uniform wear—post Ashok Chakra hierarchy.
Deep symbolism defines it. Hill Myna embodies police traits of vigilance, dialogue, intrepidity, indigenous bonds, and unity. Sal tree, akin to worshipped giants in Bastar and Surguja, imparts lessons of sturdiness, tenacity, endurance, preservation, harmony with nature, and effective restraint. It glorifies the force’s commitment, service ethos, and proud continuum.
The ceremony hosted Deputy CM Vijay Sharma, Chief Secretary Vikas Sheel, Principal Secy Subodh Kumar Singh, DGP Arun Dev Gautam, Housing Corp MD Pawan Dev, SRP ADGP Kalluri, and ADGPs Pradeep Gupta, Vivekanand Sinha, Deepanshu Kabra, Amit Kumar. Amid festivities, it reaffirms the police as Chhattisgarh’s steadfast sentinels.
