Dr. Jitendra Singh, India’s Minister of State for Science and Technology, positioned the country as a frontrunner in AI-enabled climate strategies during his keynote at the Technology and Innovation Conclave 2.0 in New Delhi. Organized by UNESCAP’s Asian-Pacific technology hub and the DSIR, the conclave spotlighted the imperative for transnational unity.
Climate change, Singh warned, defies national boundaries and requires joint mitigation endeavors. To master its challenges and fortify against extreme events, AI deployment must synergize with human expertise, organizational synergy, and global networks.
Isolated innovation is obsolete, he declared. Progress flourishes through interconnected efforts involving diverse sciences, sectoral collaborations between public and private realms, and inclusive institutional partnerships. From inception, innovations need deep ties to commerce, markets, and tech dissemination channels.
On India’s burgeoning global footprint, the minister observed surging demands for its contributions to worldwide climate-tech initiatives. The subcontinent’s rich topographical and climatic diversity yields profound lessons and bespoke solutions, ripe for international sharing.
This proactive stance cements India’s role as a beacon in AI-augmented environmental stewardship, fostering hope for sustainable planetary health.
