Calcutta High Court’s push for Mamata Banerjee’s administration to cede border land to BSF has ignited fresh debates, but TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh countered aggressively, revealing the land was transferred ages ago.
In forthright remarks to journalists, he outlined, ‘Passing no judgment on the HC order. Fact is, state executed the handover earlier. BSF dominates those stretches up to 50 km inside—no contrary intel exists.’
Probing deeper, Ghosh asked pointedly, ‘BSF jurisdiction in place—yet infiltrations? That’s their lookout, beyond state police purview. BSF’s mixed signals are puzzling. Land given; rest is politicking against national good.’
Targeting BJP ahead of Amit Shah’s trip, he mocked, ‘Election season brings Modi, Nadda brigade to Bengal; post-vote, ghosts. PM’s teleprompter shows are forgettable, impact-less affairs.’
On Sandeshkhali distortions, Ghosh affirmed public discernment: ‘Misguidance bids fail. Folks credit Bengal’s growth to the right team—BJP’s trust deficit persists.’
Denying RG Kar parents’ political offer assertions, he clarified, ‘No party outreach. Lies extracted by meddlers.’
Ghosh’s riposte frames the episode as TMC’s proactive governance versus rivals’ opportunistic narratives, setting stage for intensified Bengal political warfare.
