Imtiaz Ali’s next venture promises to tug at heartstrings with its blend of intimate romance and sweeping national narrative. Following the success of Jab We Met and Rockstar, his untitled film arrives in theaters on June 12, stirring anticipation among cinephiles.
Crafted by Applause Entertainment and Window Seat Films, with Mohit Chaudhary as key producer, the project—written and directed by Ali—is finalizing post-production. The excitement peaks with the collaboration of Ali, A.R. Rahman, and Irshad Kamil, whose synergy fueled blockbusters like Rockstar, Highway, Tamasha, and Jab We Met.
Diljit Dosanjh headlines post his Ali stint in Amar Singh Chamkila, joined by Vedang Raina, Sharvari, and the iconic Naseeruddin Shah. The plot navigates relationship complexities, love’s might, and parting’s pain, evolving into a tapestry reflecting India’s collective heart.
In Ali’s words: ‘You stand by me when solitude reigns. Momin… Does love dissolve? Can a soul’s sanctuary be seized? Vast in heart and scope, the tale is achingly personal—of a boy, a girl, and their homeland.’
This film offers Dosanjh another chapter with Ali, breakthroughs for Raina and Sharvari, and prestige via Shah. Touching down June 12, it tackles love, separation, and belonging, set to deliver a richly layered experience that lingers long after the credits roll.
