Vadodara roared to life as UP Warriors challenged RCB with 144 in WPL 2026’s high-stakes battle. Reeling from four losses in six outings, Lanning’s charges were put in to bat by toss-winning Smriti Mandhana. They responded with 143/8 in 20 overs, powered by a sensational start.
Openers Meg Lanning and Deepti Sharma tore into RCB’s attack, amassing 74 runs in 8.1 overs. Lanning’s 41 (30b, 6×4, 1×6) was fireworks personified. Deepti then masterminded the middle order, unbeaten on 55 (43b, 6×4, 1×6), nurturing partnerships with Harleen Deol (14*) and Simran Sheikh (10). A late wobble cost three wickets in the closing overs.
Nadine de Klerk dominated bowling figures with 4/22 for RCB. Grace Harris grabbed two, Bell and Patil one each, restricting the scoring rate.
Warriors’ lineup: Lanning (capt), Sheikh, Jones (wk), Deol, Tryon, Sharma, Sehrawat, Ecclestone, Sobhana Joy, Pandey, Gaud. RCB: Mandhana (c), Harris, Voll, Yadav, Ghosh (wk), de Klerk, Vastrakar, Reddy, Satghare, Patil, Bell.
All eyes on RCB’s batting firepower. Will they conquer the target, or will Warriors defend with grit? This match could redefine both campaigns.
