Excitement grips Punjab as Prime Minister Narendra Modi gears up for Jalandhar to mark Guru Ravidas’s 649th jayanti. Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Delhi’s Cabinet Minister, summed up the fervor: ‘Punjab is impatiently awaiting PM Modi’s arrival.’
During media briefings, Sirsa pointed to the PM’s heartfelt ties with the saint and locals, confirming seamless arrangements. Touching down at Adampur Airport, the visit promises spiritual elevation.
CM Bhagwant Mann fueled the buzz by pushing for the airport’s renaming to Shri Guru Ravidas International on social media, a move that would honor the poet-saint’s legacy of devotion and justice.
The itinerary features a poignant meeting at Dera Sachkhand Ballan with Sant Niranjan Das, the distinguished Padma Shri holder leading this key Doaba shrine in Ballan, near Jalandhar.
Simultaneously, on February 1, PM Modi will launch the Halwara International Airport in Ludhiana virtually. Fully equipped for international ops with assigned codes, it supports major airlines’ aircraft and launches Delhi services via Air India and Vistara.
The unveiling, attended by Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu and parliamentarians, positions the airport as a catalyst for Punjab’s economy—unlocking jobs, investments, and better air links for industrial Ludhiana.
This dual focus on faith and development highlights Punjab’s vibrant path ahead, fostering unity and opportunity under national leadership.
