Shri Ram Mandir Construction Committee Chairman Nripendra Misra dropped a major hint Friday: President Droupadi Murmu may visit Ayodhya’s Ram Temple in March after receiving a formal invite from the trust.
Addressing the media, Misra explained that trust representatives met the President recently, inviting her for prayers at the sanctum. No official nod yet, but ‘she’s informally agreed,’ he disclosed, pinning hopes on her March calendar.
This anticipation follows the monumental January 22, 2024, Pran Pratishtha, orchestrated by Prime Minister Modi with 7,000 guests including saints, CEOs, sports icons, and film personalities. It was a spectacle watched by millions globally.
The temple has since become a magnet for masses. Day two post-ceremony saw 300,000 darshans of Ram Lalla’s youthful idol, with comparable crowds queuing up.
In cultural news, a rare 400-year-old Sanskrit Ramayana manuscript has been donated by Central Sanskrit University to the trust. Repurposed from the President’s museum for the temple’s dedicated Ramayana space upstairs.
Plans are afoot to collect and safeguard Valmiki texts and vernacular versions, establishing Ayodhya as the epicenter of Ramayana scholarship and devotion.
Such dignitary engagements promise to amplify the temple’s legacy, weaving personal piety with public celebration in India’s spiritual heartland.
