Friday marked the triumphant end of Bihar Agricultural University’s three-day inter-college sports and cultural bonanza at Sabour, captivating 503 athletes—240 female, 263 male—from 11 teams across 10 colleges. The event brimmed with enthusiasm and unyielding sportsmanship in every competition.
As a cornerstone annual tradition, it excelled in organization and scale, propelling top talents toward ICAR national competitions in New Delhi. Students shone brightly in cultural arenas too, proudly representing their institutions.
Bihar Agricultural College Sabour postgraduates swept the sports overall with 60 points, boasting 8 golds, 4 silvers, and 4 bronzes. Their undergrad team earned silver medal position with 48 points. Ankita from Sabour’s Agri Biotech College was women’s best athlete; Pratap Kumar from Ara’s Engineering College, men’s.
Key final results: Badminton girls – Dr. Kalam Kishanganj (gold), Sabour (silver); boys – Sabour PG (gold), Dr. Kalam (silver). Table tennis girls – Dr. Kalam (gold), Mandan Bharti Saharsa (silver); boys – Sabour PG (gold), Veer Kunwar Singh Dumraon (silver). Men’s volleyball – Mandan Bharti; girls’ kabaddi – Veer Kunwar Singh; boys’ kabaddi – Sabour.
Cultural sweepstakes had Sabour PG as champions, undergrads runners-up, with Ali Asaba as top artist. They dominated group dance and song too.
The closing featured awards galore and inspiring remarks by Dr. Shweta Shambhavi on nurturing discipline and holistic growth. University leaders, from deans to principals, attended, celebrating student excellence.
