A groundbreaking health program for Delhi’s MLAs commenced Sunday at Sant Parmanand Hospital, with Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta at the helm. He articulated a pivotal truth: ‘Fit representatives underpin powerful institutions and elevate public welfare.’
Under the Delhi government’s regional health plan, the initiative runs until February 14, 2026, starting February 2. Conceived through assembly consensus, it schedules six checkups per day over the fortnight.
Inaugural participants included MLAs Surya Prakash Khatri, Poonam Bhardwaj, and Anil Jha. Gupta hailed it as indispensable for public-facing leaders requiring unwavering health.
Service excellence hinges on bodily strength, cognitive prowess, and positive mindset, he emphasized. Post-40 preventive protocols are especially critical, he advised.
Highlighted recently in Lucknow by Deputy Speaker Mohan Singh Bisht, the Delhi approach captivated other states’ speakers, who sought in-depth guidance.
Gupta is bullish on its national spread, imploring counterparts to initiate parallel programs. This would amplify lawmakers’ stamina and service impact, heralding a healthier political landscape.
