Demonstrating unwavering resolve, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inspected the transformative redevelopment at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) on February 4. This key visit aims to accelerate Bihar’s healthcare revolution.
The CM’s itinerary kicked off in the Phase-1 Emergency Building’s Radiology wing, where he assessed top-tier CT scans, MRIs, and ancillary services set to elevate diagnostic capabilities dramatically.
Pediatric facilities on the fifth floor received meticulous attention next, followed by an expansive review of hospital grounds’ construction activities. Officials provided granular updates on progress, resource allocation, and completion targets.
Directing officials, Kumar hammered home the imperatives of superior build quality, rigorous safety measures, and staff housing provisions. ‘Advanced medical aid must reach every patient swiftly, without any inconvenience,’ he declared emphatically.
With plans to scale to 5,462 beds, PMCH will boast comprehensive cutting-edge infrastructure. Kumar also greenlit ongoing park and beautification projects on JP Ganga Path. His team included heavyweights like Principal Secretary Deepak Kumar, Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit, Health Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh, and Secretary Kumar Ravi.
This inspection not only sets aggressive timelines but also reaffirms Bihar’s trajectory towards self-reliant, patient-focused healthcare excellence.
