Uttar Pradesh’s International Film City project accelerates with a blockbuster announcement – ‘Mom 2’ by Boney Kapoor will be the first film to shoot at the Jewar facility. Nestled in Greater Noida, this CM Yogi flagship initiative is poised to redefine India’s filmmaking landscape.
On-site momentum is palpable. Bayview Bhutani Film City Private Limited has initiated land mapping in Sector-21 along Yamuna Expressway. ‘Post-mapping, expect shooting sets in 20 days,’ officials stated, underscoring efficiency.
Backed by YEIDA agreement and layout approval, construction dovetails with the shoot. The expansive campus targets films, series, and digital content, enhanced by Jewar Airport’s vicinity for swift global access.
Rajiv Arora, the project’s GM, noted, ‘We’re syncing shoot prep with builds. Formal launch by CM Yogi and PM Modi is imminent, igniting film activities statewide.’ Opting for UP for ‘Mom 2’, the successor to the acclaimed 2017 release, Kapoor spotlights the state’s rising credibility.
Visionaries hail it as a game-changer. With superior infrastructure and incentives, it could eclipse traditional hubs, spurring job creation and innovation. UP’s entertainment ambitions are crystallizing, promising a vibrant future for creators and audiences alike.
As ‘Mom 2’ cameras prepare to roll, the Film City stands as a beacon of progress, cementing UP’s role in India’s creative renaissance.
