Chief Minister Manik Saha is steering Tripura towards healthcare self-sufficiency with telemedicine at the forefront. At the 62nd edition of his grievance redressal platform ‘CM’s Common Court’ on Thursday, held at his residence, he underscored the state’s dedication to advanced medical access for all.
Petitioners from far-flung areas shared poignant stories of medical hardships. Leveraging his medical background, Saha issued on-the-spot orders, blending compassion with administrative efficiency.
‘Advanced treatments are now feasible locally in many cases,’ Saha noted. ‘Telemedicine eliminates travel barriers, connecting patients directly to specialists and preserving precious resources.’
In an act of solidarity, Rs 4 lakh was disbursed to Anandnagar’s Anukul Das, whose family mourned a son’s untimely death in an accident. Such gestures highlight the human touch in policy execution.
Saha commanded urgent care for Bijnakanya Malsom’s father in Amarpur’s West Taichalong. Advanced arrangements were greenlit for aplastic anemia sufferers Swapna Pal (Khowai’s Ganki) and Biswajit Dhar (Dharmanagar).
Heart patients and those with other severe ailments from Agartala, Dharmanagar, and Singerbil were promised full backing. Senior officials like Kiran Gitte, Tapas Roy, and Dr. Samit Roy Chowdhury ensured directives translated to action.
Saha’s leadership is redefining healthcare in Tripura, where technology meets empathy. By curbing out-migration for treatment, telemedicine fosters economic savings and better health outcomes. This blueprint holds potential for nationwide replication, marking a new era in public health innovation.
