At a packed press conference, TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh passionately championed West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee’s ‘Banglar Yuva Sathi’ initiative, calling it a beacon of her prescient leadership. He rebuffed BJP’s skepticism, weaving it into the tapestry of the state’s expansive welfare portfolio.
The scheme aids unemployed secondary graduates aged 21-40 with Rs 1,500 per month for up to five years or until hired. Applications flood constituency camps from February 15 to 26, launching April 2026.
‘It’s seamless with icons like Lakshmir Bhandar, Swasthya Sathi—over 100 strong. Pure policy, not politics,’ Ghosh affirmed.
Lashing BJP, he charged, ‘They derided our schemes as handouts, now duplicate them shamelessly, even in Bihar. Their job pledge? Vaporized. Banerjee builds Bengal; BJP’s economics erode jobs.’
Regarding the female student’s suicide attempt after exam woes, Ghosh demurred politicization: ‘Police handle it. Rare now versus before, plus students migrate here—testimony to our strides.’
He ended urging youth participation, celebrating Banerjee’s vision amid BJP’s evident unease, poised for Bengal’s brighter tomorrow.
