As Tarique Rahman assumes the role of Bangladesh Prime Minister, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has voiced expectations for improved India-Bangladesh dynamics and an end to anti-Hindu violence.
The MP expressed hope that Rahman, risen through democratic channels, would prioritize mending ties derailed in recent times. ‘With a male leader returning after decades, there’s potential for democratic renewal and warmer relations with India,’ Chaturvedi remarked.
She spotlighted the surge in Hindu-targeted extremism, allegedly Pakistan-instigated, marked by brutal lynchings and murders. ‘Rahman bears the responsibility to stifle this reign of terror and ensure accountability for perpetrators,’ she urged.
Chaturvedi lambasted departing figure Muhammad Yunus as a Pakistani proxy aimed at spoiling bilateral harmony. ‘He stood idle as Hindus faced extermination through ignored murders and mob violence,’ she criticized.
In contrast, she lauded the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron, celebrating the deep-seated India-France friendship. ‘Bolstered by strategic defense and trade partnerships, aligned democratic ethos, and joint global commitments, this relationship fosters prosperity and elevates citizen well-being in both nations,’ Chaturvedi concluded.
