In Kolkata, Ganguly shared, ‘May his health recover through apt care. He transformed Pakistan’s image worldwide—as cricket captain and PM. Proper attention and respect are imperative.’
Preceding this, 14 former captains issued a resolute joint letter to Pakistani officials. Featuring Gavaskar, Kapil, Chappells, and others, it presses for specialized, uninterrupted medical support for Khan, detained since 2023 with dire health updates like faltering vision.
‘Vision decline in confinement has alarmed us deeply,’ the document urged, specifying humane protocols: expert care, legal safeguards, international-compliant conditions, and family meets.
