Day one of WPGT 2026 Leg-4 at Pune Club Golf Course belonged to Tvesa Malik and Ridhima Dilawari, who both signed for 3-under 68s to claim co-leadership. Hero MotoCorp-backed with Rs 17 lakh on offer and a field of 49, the event kicked off with fireworks.
Hot off ending her title drought last week – playoff defeat of Anvitha Narendran at Oxford (last win: Sept 2023, Gurugram) – Tvesa was measured early (front-nine birdie-bogey) before erupting late with three birdies in four holes. Ridhima’s front nine was a birdie bonanza (five), plus one on 10 for 6-under. Drama ensued: bogey 11, birdie 14, double 15, bogey 18 – still 68.
Vani Kapoor’s 69 earned third; Anuradha Chaudhary’s 70 fourth. Lavanya Gupta (72) took fifth, six players at 73 (Sneha Singh, Durga Nittur, Jasmine Shekar, Anvitha, Vidhatri Urs) sixth. Amandeep Drall (T-11, 74), Neha Tripathi (T-14, 75) lurk.
In last week’s par-or-worse finale, Aradhana Manikandan and Vani tied fourth at 72. Tvesa’s momentum clashes with Ridhima’s aggression, promising leaderboard volatility. Pune’s greens will test resolve as contenders chase glory.
