Tensions simmer in Maharashtra as SP leader Abu Azmi calls for a CBI-led investigation into the plane crash that felled Ajit Pawar, while unleashing scathing attacks on ‘The Kerala Files 2’ and the state’s decision to end Muslim quotas. His remarks highlight festering concerns over truth, equity, and communal harmony.
Insisting on an impartial external agency, Azmi said the probe is essential to quell public suspicions surrounding Pawar’s death. He then turned his focus to the film, decrying it as a targeted assault on Muslims. ‘Enough is enough—this overreach has water gushing over our heads; govern by the Constitution,’ he proclaimed.
Azmi commended Telangana’s Ramadan accommodations for Muslim civil servants, suggesting Maharashtra adopt similar empathy. Responding to Mohan Bhagwat’s views on family size and border incursions, he challenged, ‘Have as many kids as you like, even 30. But BJP’s decade in power makes infiltration their failure—round them up and send them packing.’
The 5% Muslim reservation cancellation was labeled a hallmark of a ‘hate-mongering, communal regime’ that daily schemes to divide the majority. Pointing to the unimplemented 2014 Congress-NCP GR, Azmi stressed justice for underprivileged Muslim communities in age-old vocations.
Azmi’s forthright critique signals escalating political friction, pressing the government to prioritize inclusive governance over divisive agendas.
