Chief Minister Rekha Gupta marked a milestone in Delhi’s hunger alleviation efforts by opening 25 new Atal Canteens, swelling the network to 71. Government sources revealed this will facilitate 71,000 daily Rs 5 thalis, directly benefiting laborers fueling the city’s pulse.
Gupta’s speech pulled no punches against the erstwhile AAP: ‘Their 11-year watch kept canteens trapped in paperwork. BJP’s single year? 71 operational hubs. That’s governance with velocity.’ The audience applauded her pointed delivery.
Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena joined for the multi-site launch, with Gupta tasting the offerings at Geeta Colony. Drawing from Vajpayee’s legacy and Modi’s vision, she pledged 100 canteens. ‘A salute to Delhi’s hardworking hands,’ she said. ‘Ensuring no empty stomachs in the capital through affordable, quality meals.’
Dignitaries present: Ministers Harsh Malhotra and Ashish Sood, MLA Anil Goyal, and area notables. This follows her ambitious East Delhi plans—236 roads rebuilt, sewers overhauled, water woes resolved permanently.
On X, she posted, ‘More than projects, it’s a vow for parity across Yamuna—better infrastructure, rights, and honor, propelling trans-Yamuna into Delhi’s development vanguard.’ BJP’s strategy shines: swift welfare rollout intertwined with robust urban renewal, redefining capital leadership.
