Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis declared victory over Maoist symbolism in Gadchiroli, where security teams demolished the remaining 44 Naxal shrines. This comprehensive wipeout ends decades of psychological warfare waged through these forest outposts.
Posting on X, Fadnavis commended the Gadchiroli constabulary’s valor. ‘Beyond bricks and mortar, this crushes the fear-mongering ideology that gripped communities,’ he said. Maoists had erected them in inaccessible terrains to cow down locals and mark territory.
The state’s holistic approach—security sweeps, amnesty schemes, area development, and rapport-building—has flipped the narrative. A coordinated blitz by 800-strong contingents of police, C-60, CRPF, and task forces targeted Etapalli, Hedri, Bhamragad, Jimlagatta, Dhanora, and Pendhari hotspots. BDDs audits preceded systematic destruction.
The landscape now breathes relief, with faith in authorities and development dawning. Fadnavis portrayed it as Gadchiroli’s metamorphosis: from shadows of strife to sunlight of stability. ‘Maoism erased; law reigns supreme. Our guardians ensure unyielding peace and prosperity,’ he concluded.
