The stage is set for an epic showdown in New Delhi this Sunday, where more than 30,000 runners will chase glory in the record-breaking marathon. Kickstarted by Vijender Singh and Rohan Bopanna, the race begins at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, drawing crowds from 31 countries and India’s vast expanse.
Four race formats—full, half, 10K, and 5K—will test limits, with Indian elites Anish Thapa, Man Singh, Gopi T, Beliyappa, and others like Nirmaben Thakor and Stanzin Dolkar leading the charge. As a key qualifier for Asian Games, it’s a launchpad for future champions.
Inclusivity shines bright with 20 visually impaired participants, while Rs 10 lakh raised will fuel junior athletics programs via the Athletics Federation of India.
Nagraj Adiga, Race Director at NEB Sports, captured the essence: ‘This marathon celebrates the unbreakable human spirit through unity and diversity. Our goal is to elevate athletes to unparalleled success.’
Expect vibrant energy, stringent safety measures, and a wave of motivation rippling through the city, cementing the New Delhi Marathon as a beacon of endurance and community.
