Enhancing mobility for millions, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Meerut Metro and Namo Bharat high-speed train at Shatabdi Nagar on Sunday, advancing the NCR’s transport revolution.
Received by UP CM Yogi Adityanath and BJP’s Pankaj Chaudhary, PM Modi proceeded to launch the services, dedicating the full 82-km Delhi-Meerut corridor and additional RRTS stretches—5 km Delhi segment and 21 km UP extension.
The PM enjoyed a metro journey to Meerut South station alongside students and travelers, warmly interacting and appreciating snapshots shown by two young enthusiasts.
Pioneering at 180 kmph, Namo Bharat connects Delhi to vital hubs like Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Modinagar, and Meerut faster than ever.
Sarai Kale Khan stands out as a multi-modal powerhouse, tying into railway, metro, bus depot, and ring road. Meerut gains Shatabdi Nagar, Begumpul, and Modipuram stations.
The integrated Namo Bharat-Metro framework delivers seamless high-speed regional and local travel, curbing urban congestion and emissions—a win for green infrastructure.
