The BJP’s ‘Parchi government’ in Rajasthan has pushed law and order to the brink of collapse, warns veteran Congress leader Ashok Gehlot. His sharp words follow the barbaric rape and murder of a minor girl in Bikaner’s Ranjitpura, amplifying concerns over women’s safety in the state.
Gehlot’s X post laid bare the horror: a Class 8 student abducted en route to her exam, subjected to rape and cold-blooded killing—an event that has shamed humanity. ‘Law and order is fully on ventilator since this government’s arrival,’ he charged, noting daughters’ growing fear of the outside world. He pressed CM Bhajan Lal Sharma to emerge from announcement mode and tackle the anarchy head-on.
Demanding immediate culprits’ capture, fast-track proceedings, and landmark sentences, Gehlot stressed Rajasthan’s intolerance for further agony. Ally Govind Singh Dotasra decried the BJP’s women protection flop, with the incident stirring massive local uproar. School-attending girls now tremble in fear, he observed, calling for urgent arrests and stern justice.
Analysts see this as emblematic of broader security lapses post-BJP takeover, contrasting sharply with their tough-on-crime rhetoric. Gehlot’s vivid analogy has gone viral, galvanizing opposition and public ire. The government’s response will be pivotal—mere promises won’t suffice amid this crisis of confidence.
