Guwahati is set to become a hub for retirement readiness as Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurates the 58th Pre-Retirement Counselling Workshop on February 23. Hosted at the Administrative Staff College, this initiative by the Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare Department embodies PM Modi’s vision for enhanced ‘Ease of Living’ via cutting-edge digital pension tools.
Tailored for central government employees on the cusp of retirement, the workshop delivers expert guidance across key areas: retirement entitlements, CGHS access, cybersecurity protocols, wise investing, navigation of Bhavishya and integrated portals, family pension intricacies, CPENGRAMS for complaints, Anubhav for stories, and paperless life certificates.
An estimated 350 local staff retiring within 12 months will walk away better prepared. Enhancing the experience, a dedicated Bankers’ Awareness session with SBI will clarify pension disbursement norms for bankers.
A standout feature is the banks’ exhibition, where pension-handling institutions showcase innovative services. Participants get hands-on help with pension accounts, scheme selections, and investment strategies suited to their needs.
Dr. Singh’s presence highlights the priority on pensioner welfare. These workshops are transforming retirements from daunting to doable, leveraging technology for transparency and convenience in India’s evolving administrative landscape.
